Meet HIPAA Disaster Recovery Requirements
The Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
requires broad security and disaster recovery protection
for “individually identifiable healthcare information.” The Security Rule is the one
part of HIPAA that clearly applies to the electronic
data. The Final Security Rule was published in February
2003, and became effective on April 21, 2003. This
Security Rule requires that covered entities establish
both a Data-Backup plan and a Disaster Recovery plan.

in our off-site location in case of a disaster. Our

Backup Service provides scheduled online backups,
off-site electronic storage, and rapid recovery of
server information. Backups automatically occur over
network connections (such as DSL or T1) to our secure
data center located in Dallas, TX. AgiForce's
professional Microsoft Certified staff will help you
identify which information elements you would like to
schedule as well as the frequency of backups. Once the
service is up and running our staff will monitor the
process daily to ensure process execution.

solution to mitigate the risk of critical information

Maintain a 30 Day
Versioned History
In addition to storing your
complete dataset, we will maintain a history of all file
versions backed up during the previous 30 days. This 30 day history is extremely useful for retrieving
earlier versions of files which have been corrupted or
deleted as a result of viruses or hardware failures. This feature
also provides a simple mechanism to recover files which
have been accidentally deleted or overwritten by users.
AgiForce also offers a Monthly DVD Archive program as an
optional service which provides our customers with a
complete copy of the previous month’s data set for each
month that the program is purchased. This service can
essentially allow companies to maintain a complete
versioned history of all their mission critical data.

Web Based Data Restore
Our web based interface
allows you to restore data from any machine with an
internet connection. You can now restore a
corrupted document by simply logging on to your account
through a web browser and selecting the file and version
you would like to download. |

Security
In order to maintain
security throughout the backup process, we have
implemented security constraints on several layers.
First, the client software establishes a secure
connection to our servers using 448-bit Blowfish
encryption. Next, your account and password are verified
using Microsoft CHAP authentication. Once authenticated,
your data will be transferred over a secure connection
where it will be stored on our servers and protected by
our firewall. To further prevent any unauthorized user
from accessing your data, the files remain encrypted
while they are stored on our servers. |
The Latest Software
Using a patented FastBIT patching process, the client
software is able to extract all the changes made to a
file since the previous backup. This process requires
only the binary-level differences be transferred to the
server, resulting in 1/6 of the bandwidth and server
storage requirements compared to other applications
using block technology. In addition, all data is
compressed and encrypted for both transmission and
storage on our servers.
Client software upgrades are distributed automatically,
free of charge, without any user intervention required.
Additionally, an optional Open File Agent is available
which allows backing up files that are in-use. |
| Secure Remote Data
Center AgiForce stores
your mission critical business data at The
Planet ©, a Tier One Data Center located in Dallas,
Texas. This 60,000 sq. ft. facility houses our top
of the line Dell servers. This location has a Cisco
certified network architecture with redundant
connections provided by three tier one internet
providers. Access to this facility is controlled by
locked gates, access badges, and 24/7 video monitoring.
Power is provided by three different city grid feeds,
six paired UPS systems, and two standby diesel
generators which can be refueled while running. In
addition, the building is protected by an advanced fire
suppression system with “Very Early Smoke Detection
Apparatus”, Dry Pipe system pressurized for monitoring,
and 500 smoke detectors. |
